Choice of rot-proof wood or another material for the card

Everyone here saw the fragility of the cherry wood card. This could be resolved by choosing rot-proof wood, the question is whether the cost would not be too high. Exotic woods are resistant to wear and water etc. or there are those that are water resistant such as white oak.
The easiest thing seems to me to be the choice of a recycled plastic material for the core covered with a metal surface; we would then have a very resistant card whose validity period could be extended.

I agree with the wood.
As for recycled plastic, joint account cards are, in addition, already made this way.
On the other hand, for the metal surface, I don't think it's a good idea. At most (for security reasons) a card cannot be valid for more than 4 years. I am not sure that the carbon impact will be offset in such a short time...
