Hello Camille LE MEUR,
Thanks for the information.
What about withdrawing cash from abroad in the EU zone?

Camille LE MEUR hello, it's done for payments but not for withdrawals, currently no free withdrawal outside the eurozone...

Be able to pay internationally at no cost.
Other similar banks do it so why not Helios? :)

Unfortunately, easy international travel is still possible and indeed, making a product that reduces expenses abroad is a problem. I think it would not be desirable to allow this except in the EU zone. The aim is not for Helios customers to travel more, but for them to travel less and less far.

I go against the tide, for me this feature is far from being essential.
Its use would in fact be mainly for French people traveling internationally (outside the EU zone), which is one of the most important carbon emission sources due to the use of the plane (yes there are exceptions, but it remains anecdotal).
For French expatriates or living abroad for a long time, the choice to open a local account in their adopted country will in any case be preferred.
In short, the current additional cost is in my opinion completely justified, and could even be “marketed” to remind you that traveling far in short periods must be paid to offset (a little) the carbon impact.

I am going on a trip outside the eurozone for 8 months and I have not taken a plane since 2006. It's not just WE air travel...
In my case, that would be a great idea.

Convinced Sparrow: Hello Claude,
I did say “mainly”, I know that this is not the case for 100% of users and that some people, like you, could have a real use of it.
But you will agree that if this service is offered, it will have a general tendency to be used by a majority of people traveling by plane today. And that is why I maintain that for me it is not a priority that Helios should focus on.

Wise Gull:
Good evening David,
I understand your point of view. But let's take the reasoning differently: a person spending their weekends in Prague, Stockholm or elsewhere, coming to Helios may have to change their habits (contagion or awareness effect with the messages conveyed on the site). And I just as much like to have his money invested ethically.
This point of view can also be understood.

Wise Gull: Absolutely agree. Air travel is a thing of the past. I don't think it's a good idea to promote that.

Like all the previous comments, I have been traveling outside the eurozone for 3 months and I would have liked to subscribe to a subscription to limit the costs. As well as insurance on my credit card!

Hello, we are a binational couple and we live mainly outside the eurozone. So we use Helios for our payments in France but unfortunately another bank for payment abroad. We would be prepared to pay an international option to remove commissions.

Abroad for several months, it's true that it's a bit annoying all these “-0.03€” for each operation. It's not the sea to drink but it quickly represents a small amount

I am going to move outside the eurozone and if you put this in place I will be happy to stay at home!

Frankly, if you put this in place, I am ready to come back to you. That's what made me leave your bank with regret.
